"Chosen by God"

This myth has a few variations, but the first-person telling of it goes like so:

"I also have the conviction and the certain feeling that nothing can happen to me, for I know that Providence has chosen me to fulfill my task."

or simply:

"I am the chosen one"

Now naturally one can see that anyone who would say that about themselves has such extreme delusions of grandeur that immediate institutionalization would be the recommended course of action, lest they hurt any more people than they already have (and yes, every such person has done untold harm to humanity by the time they have the opportunity to make such a public pronouncement). But further, it is worth asking how to solve the hazard caused by all those that believe such hokum.

Perhaps, in due diligence, we ought to give such wayward reactionaries a chance to gather their senses. And how better than to use those scriptures that they hold as sacrosanct to absolutely prove that the god spoken of therein has standards that their Dear Leader not only doesn't measure up to, but absolutely had many values that are quite the opposite of that Deity they supposedly were chosen by. First off:

"one who exalts himself shall be abased" -- From Matthew 23:12

And seeing that the first-person claim is self debunking, it may not be necessary to go further, but there is so much material to work with here, how can one resist?  One finds proof in the basic descriptive attribute associated with the person:

"Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God." -- Matthew 19:24

and of course such a person is also the only person specifically mentioned as feeling the flames of hell:

“The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried.  In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’ But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony." -- Luke 16:22-25

One finds volumes of proof that such a God could never approve of someone who held this reprobate's signature political view:

"Cursed is anyone who withholds justice from the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow."
-- from Deuteronomy 27:10

"The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself"
-- from Leviticus 19:34

"'When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Leave them for the poor and for the foreigner residing among you. I am the LORD your God.'"
-- Leviticus 23:22

So, having conclusively proven that a person who has gone out of their way to mistreat foreigners, the poor and downtrodden cannot be Chosen by the God of the Bible, it is now worth asking what is to become of those who could be mislead so easily by an Orange-Faced Minstrel Show:

"A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. So then, by their fruit you will recognize them.  Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness!'"
-- Matthew 7:17-23

And so, those of you who voted to oppress the foreigner, the widow and the orphan, and continue to follow charlatans who approve of the the same, now is the time to be afraid. For if you believe the words within the Bible to be true, you ought certainly take heed.

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness"
-- 2 Timothy 3:16 (that is Second Timothy, for the Trumpniks out there)
